Kim Rudd, former Member of Parliament for Northumberland-Peterborough South has announced she will not be a candidate in the next Federal election. Ms.Rudd was the first Member of Parliament for the riding of Northumberland Peterborough South.
When in office she was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In her role, Ms. Rudd represented Canada both here and across the world. Rudd also had served on the Standing Committee on Finance. In a statement she said that she had reevaluated her priorities and wanted to spend time with her family.
“I want to thank all of the amazing people I have met along the way, those who have supported me not only professionally and politically, but personally”.
Ms. Rudd explained that she was diagnosed with cancer last year and while she feels great and has no intention of slowing down, she reiterates that she wants to spend time with her family here in the riding she has lived in for over 40 years.
