A Port Hope Police investigation has led to the arrest of two men in connection with a break in.
Police say they were called to a Maitland Street business before 8 a.m. Monday (Occt 19), where a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, which was a company vehicle, two sets of golf clubs and numerous tools were stolen.
Later in the day, the stolen vehicle was stopped on George Street in Cobourg, and 35-year-old Charles Butler was arrested.
He’s been charged with breaking and entering, stealing a vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime.
Officers continued with the investigation, and 28-year-old Nicholas McCarthy was arrested in downtown Port Hope Wednesday (Oct 21) afternoon.
He’s been charged with breaking and entering, mischief, theft and breaching probation.
Officers also recovered more of the stolen property at a Walton Street home.
