After being stopped by police, an allegedly impaired driver ran into the police car.
On Tuesday evening (Feb 18), Cobourg Police were called to the Division Street area about a possible impaired driver.
A traffic stop was initiated, and police say the driver put her vehicle in reverse, striking the front end of a marked police cruiser, causing minor damage.
As a result, 50-year-old Lorraine West of Cobourg was arrested and now faces six charges.
They are impaired driving, failing to comply with probation, drinking alcohol and driving as a novice driver, failing to hand over a vehicle permit, failure to update the address on her license and failing to present an insurance card.
Police say there were no injuries as result of the collision, and West was released with a pending court date in March.
