Get some relief from the heat and head to one of the many cooling centres Cobourg has set up.
The Town of Cobourg is responsing to the increasingly hot weather conditions, and is offering relief from high temperatures or humidity.
Take a break from the heat and visit any of Cobourg’s several air conditioned cooling centres.
To keep hydrated, you can refill your water bottle with tap water at any of the locations.
Shannon Murphy, Emergency Planner for the Town of Cobourg says it’s important to stay cool and hydrated during this time and to feel welcome to use any one of our five cooling centres.
The Town of Cobourg has identified the following public places as cooling centres:
• Victoria Hall Lobby (55 King Street West)
Open: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed weekends.
• Cobourg Community Centre (750 D’Arcy Street)
Open: Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on long weekends.
• Northumberland Mall (1111 Elgin Street West)
Open: Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Cobourg Police Service Lobby (107 King Street)
Open seven days a week, all hours of the day/night. Unlimited water available.
• Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario Street)
Open: Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Sundays in the summer.
